Many economists can undoubtedly put forth theories and concepts by which humanity can grow-produce, distribute, and feed itself. 

Some ideas and theories have already been thought of and acted upon, like turning the Sahara into farmland using methods that China has devised to turn parts of the Gobi deserts into fertile soil. 

And returning the Amazon back to nature, so it cleanses and produces oxygen for humanity. Finally, allowing the native population in the Amazon to live without having to put up with an encroaching industry that destroys the jungle that has and will supply minerals and drugs as well as breathable air.
