Celebrating National Co-op Month!

Dear Friend,

As Autumn ebbs into the city and we hear the first few crunches of October leaves, we are beyond excited to celebrate National Co-op Month! Did you know this fantastic tradition began in 1964 when the U.S. Department of Agriculture declared October as Co-op Month? It’s a time to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions cooperatives make to our economy and communities.

Get ready for fascinating co-op facts and historical tidbits on our social media, plus don’t miss our Annual Event this Friday, October 4! This year’s theme, "The Future is Cooperative," chosen by the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA CLUSA), perfectly captures the exciting potential of the cooperative model. Let’s come together and make this month unforgettable as we celebrate an economy that truly works for everyone! 🎉

Co-op Cincy Staff Attend USFWC Worker Co-op Conference in Chicago

We recently returned from the USFWC Worker Co-op Conference in Chicago, and we found it full of new resources, relationships, and inspiration to bring home! The three-day conference was action-packed and filled with community connection, offering a variety of informative, enlightening, and insightful workshop sessions. Some highlights included sessions like 'Co-ops as Black Liberatory Practice' and 'Here For It: Building Capacity for Conflict'.

Throughout the event, we visualized, inspired, and co-created new ideas for molding the cooperative world. One especially empowering session brought together Black cooperators, where some of our Co-op Cincy team members had the chance to connect and learn from one another. We also hosted the United Steelworkers table and made new connections. Paloma Correa, our Co-op Culture and Business Developer, along with her Dreamers Immigrant Cooperatives Group, delivered a compelling presentation aimed at creating a 'third space' in cooperativism, making it culturally and linguistically accessible for diverse communities.

Check out some of our pictures from this energizing three-day experience!
